Using An Actual Spectrum

Nostalgia’s a wonderful thing. It can spray a fine, rose-coloured mist across all your memories, to the point where what you remember has no relation at all to reality. For example, not so long ago I picked up a few Cronosoft releases (including the rather good GameX, reviewed very nicely in the latest ZXF), and what with them being on tape and it being actually quite hard to get a PC to understand a tape, I dragged my old +2 out of the wardrobe and hooked it up for an afternoon’s entertainment. And oh my, what entertainment. I’d quite forgotten how tedious it was to wait for a tape to load, especially with a slightly wobbly power pack threatening to reset the machine every time you move it.

What I really need is a slightly more reliable Speccy, along with a DIVide.
